Although taking the tram is quite a popular way of transportation in Lisbon I decided to take a walk from Lisbon all the way to Belém. Following the coast of the Tagus, making my way past runners and other sports enthusiasts on the freshly built walking path I enjoyed it that it was just me without any tourist buzz. It also gave me the opportunity to get a closer glimpse on the “bridge of the 25th of April”.

Belém is mostly known for its pastry and the tower of Belém so of course I tried both.

Another day trip I did was a train ride to Sintra. A UNESCO world heritage with palaces and monumental gardens and nature. It even has its own climate, very much different from Lisbon.
