There are probably two world renowned hiking trips in Norway, Preikestolen and Trolltunga. So the shorter trip of the two was also on our list. So we from our base in Stavanger we took the ferry crossing the Lysefjord on the way to the starting point of the 4 hour long hiking tour.

I have to admit that the hike itself was not very giving. I am used to crowed hiking paths from the Alps but the amount of people crawling up this tour was a real pain. People are chartered there in busses so there isn’t any point along the steep climb that groups of people queue up, school classes roughly take over folks and people get upset and rest on the stone steps because they underestimated the difficulty of the trip. It is not a peaceful walk, it is a steep climb on mostly high natural stone steps which is challenging the way up and painful back down. Don’t get put of by those complaints now as the view at the end is breathtaking. Make sure to plan for some other hiking trip though too which are less popular and give you a better chance to enjoy the stunning nature surrounding you.

I was happy we had some backup shoes as my old hiking shoes dissolved after the first kilometres.
